Project: construction of the second module and rehabilitation of the first module of the Santiago de Veraguas drinking water plant and operation and maintenance of both modules. The work involves both the execution of new construction and the rehabilitation of the current facilities.

Client: National Institute of Sewers and Aqueducts (IDAAN).

Company awarded: Asteisa Tratamiento de Aguas S.A.U.

Location: Corregimiento de Canto Llano, district of Santiago, province of Veraguas.

Term: full period of project (including one year’s operation),24 months from the go-ahead.

Description:  

  • Construction of a new 5 mgd module with a hydraulic flocculator, gravity settler, sand filters and water disinfection.
  • Construction of a sludge treatment system for the new module (5mgd) and the existing plant (10mgd), which lacks treatment.
  • Installation of two new 600 HP treated water pumping units to replace the two existing 350 HP pumps.
  • Optimization and improvement of chemical dosing.
  • Installation of plant control system.
  • Perimeter fence installation.
  • Rehabilitation of the existing plant.
  • Operation and maintenance of the expanded plant (15 Million Gallons/Day).  
  • The work involves both the execution of new construction and the rehabilitation of the current facilities.
